What is CLIMATE CHANGE?

The condition of the

WEATHER atmosphere that is constantly

changing over a short period of
time.

The typical weather condition

in an entire region that takes a
long period of time to change.

HOW DOES INDUSTRIALIZATION
AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?
How does industrialization affect CLIMATE CHANGE?

INDUSTRIALIZATION is the process by which an economy is

transformed from primarily agricultural to one based on the
manufacturing of goods.
Industrial Revolution began
around the turn of the 19th
century

Impact of CLIMATE CHANGE to the
world. How it affects society?
Climate helps shape, our
growth, our well - being, and where
we actually live. Each plant and HUMAN SYSTEM
organisms have adapted to live in a PHYSICAL SYSTEM
particular climatic niche. Climate
change has been considered to have
catastrophic effects on planet Earth.
The impact and influence of the BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM
global change in our climate will be
tackled in three sectors; the
physical, biological and human
systems.
How can we resolve this
kind of global issue?

• Stop Cutting down Trees

• Control Population
• Less use of Fossil Fuels
• Focus on Renewable Energy
• Control of Methane Leaks
• Tougher Emissions and Efficiency
Standards
• Upgrade in infrastructure
What is PEACE PARIS
AGREEMENT?
The Paris Agreement is a global agreement between
195 countries at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) in
December 2015 addressing the issues of climate change.
The Paris agreement central aim is to limit the
increase of the global average temperature to “well below 2°C
above pre-industrial levels” – the level beyond which scientists
say we will see the worst extremes of global warming.
It also aims to “pursue efforts to limit the temperature
increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, recognizing that
this would significantly reduce the risks and impacts of climate
change”.
This Agreement is implementing the nationally
determined contributions (NDCs) of each Party.
USA, What are they
thinking? (Effects of
withdrawal of USA in the
agreement)
What are its impacts?
Because of US’ withdrawal with the agreement,
it will now be more difficult for the world to reach
the goals of the Paris agreement itself to keep the
global temperature to rise since the US
contributes about 15% of global emissions of
carbon. Because of this, China will be at a greater
risk since they are one of the countries that is
most vulnerable to climate change and China’s
ecological vulnerability and climate risk will
increase markedly. Another impact is that, other
countries such as China and EU may have a
thinking to follow the example of USA.
USA, What are they
thinking? (Effects of
withdrawal of USA in the
agreement)
What led US to withdraw?
The current US president Donald Trump believes
that the climate change is a hoax invented by the
Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-
competitive. He also said that it is only done for the
benefit of China, because China does not do anything
to help climate change. Trump’s administration is
closely related to fossil fuel industries that hold
powerful political influence over the Trump’s Admin
and the Republican Party. Once the U.S. withdraws
from the Paris Agreement, the Trump Administration
will seek to revoke climate regulations to benefit
energy companies including Koch Industries. Trump
also has a personal thinking against Obama and wants
to destroy his political legacy since Obama ratify the
agreement in 2016, although he did not submit it to
congress for approval.
What is NDCs?

Nationally determined contributions

The PARIS (NDCs) are at the heart of the Paris
AGREEMENT Agreement and the achievement of
these long-term goals.
and NDCs
What does this mean?

The Paris Agreement requests each

country to outline and communicate their
The PARIS
post-2020 climate actions, known as their
NDCs.
AGREEMENT Each climate plan reflects the
and NDCs country’s ambition for reducing emissions,
taking into account its domestic
circumstances and capabilities.
What have the PARIS
AGREEMENT achieved so far?
(The positive changes in
environment)

• Diplomatic Success.
• International Solar Alliance.
The Paris Agreement provides a
common framework within which individual
parties are invited to define NDCs taking into
account the overall goal of the Agreement as
well as their own capacities. The hope is that
Conclusion with increased transparency and an
ambitious overall target, countries will step
forward with ambitious national plans. The
risk, however, is that individual country
contributions fall short of the overall goal
and that the Paris Agreement remains a shell
without sufficient action and support.
