 ICT is highly demanded by students and teachers to face the
challenges of 21th century.

 ICT is a necessity nowadays to make the educational


system more effective.

 The research presents an empirical investigation of the use


of ICT among High school students in Sidi Allal Tazi.

 The participants are common core, first and second


baccalaureate students who are predominantly females.

 Also, teachers participated in this study. They consist of 4


males and 2 females.
 ICT ( information and communications technology ) is
an umbrella term that includes any communication or
application encompassing radio, television, cellular
phones, satellite systems, computer and network
hardware or software and so on …
 This research paper is an attempt to confirm that
information and communication technology has a great
impact on the education industry and has to lead to
changes in the delivery mode of education and
learning or teaching.
 The purpose of ICT is to offer an effective learning
environment for students which then increase their
performance academically.
 ICT can improve the existing curriculum and
pedagogy during the teaching and learning process.
1- To showcase the role of ICT in Moroccan high

implemented in the teaching and learning

technology in teaching andlearning process.

relation to ICT.

1. The behaviorist theory:
 Behaviorism is the basis of instructional innovations like
competency based education or computer assisted learning.
 A behaviorist opinion plans to ensure learning and behavior
modification through a stimulus- response approach.
2. The constructivists theory:
 ICT support constructivist learning environments by supporting
the process of: Learning, teaching and assessment.
 ICT is used to enable students to observe and practice the actual
processes, products, values and skills which are expected of them.
3. Cone of experience:
 the Cone of experience explains different media effects in teaching
and learning process can influence understanding of student from
complex to easier ,this theory changes the perception of all
educator around the world about how important the uses of
media in learning and teaching process. (From Sharuddin, 2002)
1. ICT enhances teaching and learning:
• applying educational technology as a constructivist
device can help students to express their knowledge,
display their ideas, examine, exploit, and process
information.
2. ICT enhances the motivation of students:
• ICT has the potential to create powerful learning
environments in various ways.
• It has the potential to access numerous information
using various sources.
• It also helps in examining information from different
perspectives.
3. The impact of ICT on pedagogy:
• Teachers openly admitted that ICT is a vital tool in
education and practical use of it improve the teaching
and the learning process.
• Qualitative and quantitative methods were
adopted in this study to achieve the purposes
and methods of using ICT in the teaching and
learning process by the high school teachers
and students.
• The qualitative research has been defined as a
research approach in understanding an
individual or group attributes to a social or
human problem (Cresswell 2014, p.32).
• The quantitative research defined as a
structured way of collecting and analyzing
data obtained from different sources.
• The present study involves 30 students from Sidi
Allal Tazi high school.
• The participants are divided between 20 students
of second baccalaureate, 5 students of first
baccalaureate and 5 students of the common core.
• The female students are the dominant gender in
this study, while the majority of students aged
between 16-19 years old.
• Also, the participants that took place in this study
are teachers from the same high school.
• the participants are 6 teachers, the majority of
them are teachers of English.
• the male gender is the dominant this time.
• The instrument used to collect data for this
study is questionnaires.
• The reason behind using the questionnaires is
to extract information about how teachers and
student use ICT in teaching and learning
process.
• the section of personal background information
ask the participants to provide their gender,
age, level of study for students, teaching
experience and subject of teaching for teachers.
• The following section consists of questions that
help to collect data information about using
ICT in teaching and learning process.
• 73.33% of students agree that ICT can improve
learning.
• 70% of students say that sometimes they use ICT at
the classroom, which mean that the usage of ICT at
the classroom varies from teacher to another.
• 80% of students say that they do not use a desktop
computer or a laptop at school.
• 86.66% of students use computers when doing
research tasks.
• 96.66% of students enjoy using the internet for
carrying out their researches.
• 93.33% of students agree that this type of
researches help them to learn.
• All teachers agree that ICT helps to teach.
• All teachers prefer using ICT.
• Teachers have the internet access at school.
• The school provides teachers with ICT
materials.
• Teachers agree that they have to participate in
ICT training.
• The mjority of teachers can use Word, Excel
and Powerpoint.
• 50% of teachers are rarely or never use
computers at the classroom.
• ICT has a strong influence on teaching process;
teachers prefer using technology instead of
traditional methods because it facilitates the
teaching process.
• Using of ICT in education has a positive impact on
both learning and teaching process.
• ICT provides opportunities for students to
improve their skills and motivation.
• Students and teachers are agreeing that ICT will
make the teaching and learning process more
effective.
• The Moroccan educational system should depend
more on ICT in education.
