FRANCISCA REYES AQUINO

IN 1920’S she researched on the


different folk dances in the Philippines,
a FOLK DANCE PIONEER of the
country.
Her research entitled Philippine
Dances and Games: country’s
unrecorded celebrations, folk dances,
rituals and games
1940- Bureau of Education served as
the supervisor of Physical Education,
distrubuted her work for the teaching
of folk dances in schools to promote
cultural heritage to Filipino students.

researched on diff. Phil. Ethnic

Philippines and perfectly
performed. Attempt to
demonstrate the ethnic dances’
original routine and music.

Studies country’s folk and ethnic
dances for four decades and
developed enthnic
choreographies applying her
findings. Dance director of
Bayanihan Philippine Dance
Company for 3 decades,
choreographed various dances
for the group, which gathered
praises and good reviews in
different part of the world.
