 NATIONAL HIGHWAYS

National highways link extreme parts of the country. These are


the primary road system and are laid and maintained by central
public works department.

 STATE HIGHWAYS

roads linking a state capital with different district


headquarters are known as state highways. These rods are
constructed and maintained by state public works department.

 DISTRICT ROADs

these roads are connect the district headquarters with other


places of the district . These roads are maintained by the
zilla parishad .
 RURAL ROADS

These roads link rural areas and villages with towns.

 BORDER ROADS

Border Roads Organization a government of India


undertaking constructs and maintains roads in the
bordering areas of the country.

Even solids can be transported through
pipelines when converted into slurry.
