CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

Saint Paul’s Academy of


Sayangan, Inc. is a Catholic
institution. All bonafide students in the
exercise of their rights and in the
performance of their duties must
conduct themselves in line of the
finest principles, traditions and ideals
of the authentic Christian Filipino.
An accepted student to study at
SPASI recognizes the existence of
a contract whereby he/she
agrees to comply with the
policies, rules and regulations of
the school and assumes full
responsibilities pertaining to
his/her status as a student.
> Personal discipline keeps proper
balance between freedom of action
headed for self-development and self-
restraining necessary in accepting
external rules for the safeguard of the
rights and responsibilities of others.
> Social discipline requires the rights
and responsibilities of the
administration, faculty, non-teaching
personnel and the student themselves.
> The school adheres to the
principle “in-loco parentis” or
secondary parental authority.
However, parents/guardians retain
the primary and continuing
responsibilities and duties in them
as prescribed by Presidential
Decree 603, Education Act of 1982
and other pertinent existing laws.

> As Paulinians, students should know that
they are always identified with school. In
their dealings, they should strive to uphold
the objectives and ideals of the school.
They should know that their conduct in
public gatherings reflect their character.
E. OFFENSES AND DISCIPLINARY MEASURES
1. Under The Care of The Adviser:
(Minor Offenses)
(a) Not Wearing prescribed uniform
(b) Failure to use school I.D.
(c) Tardiness and absences
(d) Having improper haircut and use of hair
dye.
(e) Bringing electronic gadget inside the
school.
E.2. Under the Prefect of Discipline:
(Major Offenses)
(1) Forging, tampering, altering, misprinting,
misusing school documents or records like
submitting and/or writing false or tampered
credentials, excuse letter, certificates,
furnishing false information in connection
with official documents. Publishing,
circulating or disseminating false
information about the school administration,
faculty members, personnel and students.
(2) Doing unauthorized transactions like collection or
solicitation of money or property, selling or fund
raising using unauthorized school documents.
(3) Defamation committed against a student,
teacher, personnel or any member of the school
community.
(4) Production, possession, distribution, exhibition,
and dissemination of literature of literature, films,
shows or prints, which are offensive to moral,
contrary to law and public order, good customs
and school policies.
(6) Bribery of any form to teachers or any
school personnel.
(7) Engaging in lewd, indecent, obscene,
immoral or provocative conduct such as
passionate kissing, necking, petting
while within the school premises and
during school functions.
(8) Foul language or profane, abusive,
vulgar, bad, offending verbal and sign
expression or sign language.
(9) Gambling of any form.
(10) Smoking inside or outside the school
campus.
(11) Chewing, bringing betel nuts or tobacco
inside the school compound.
(12) Theft/stealing within or outside the school
campus.
(13) Using, possession or trafficking marijuana
and/or other mind altering drugs.

(14) Bringing in or imbibing or dispensing
liquor or any intoxicating beverage
and coming to school under the state
of intoxication.
(15) Possession, use of explosives, guns,
any deadly weapon such as ice picks
and the like.
(16) Forming or joining fraternities and
sororities.
(17) Instigating, participating or leading in
the obstruction or disruption of
teaching, administrative work,
disciplinary proceedings or other
activities; and impeding, obstructing
either the performance or the rights or
obligation of the teacher to teach or the
right of a student to attend class or
come to school.
