 Students will learn about what constitutes integrative art
including its most modern examples in order that they
can appreciate its relevance to contemporary art and
modern society.

What is Integrative Art?
Integrative Art, from the word “integrate”,
refers to art approaches or techniques that
involve the use of combination or mixed
mediums.
Art refers to anything that attracts the five
senses and thus its mediums may be visual,
auditory, olfactory, tactile and gustatory.
Board Game
Students will be grouped into three representing the three senses
most commonly used in art. After which they will write on the
whiteboard examples of art mediums according to the category they
belong to. Follow the given format below.

to contemporary art (the period of the
modern era of fine arts) being dominated
by integrative mixed art mediums as
compared to the traditional single art
mediums of the previous generations.

nowadays, this field is at its
peak where, with the aid of
technology, graphic
designers are able to
integrate text, font styles,
colors, images, symbols and
space into a seamless and
attractive layout.

due to technology, this
field is also at its peak.
Here, the rendered
illustrations and texts
are given 3D or 4D
dimensions and
movement including
sound.

the recording and
broadcasting of content
through the use of
moving images, sounds,

This mixed art medium
utilizes motion, action,
voice, sounds, music,
dancing, lighting, costumes,
props and stage sets and
backgrounds in conveying
the message of a story,
drama or musical.

This combines the use of
videos, sounds and music,
camera shots, sets and props,
live studio, lighting, and
dialogues in broadcasting
different types of shows ---
news, variety, documentary,
talk shows, soap opera, etc.
Culminating Activity

Photo-Essay Project
Make a photo essay (750 word count) that
conveys the relevance and practical applications
of integrative art to today’s modern society with
the photos or cutout images (5 to 10 with
corresponding captions) showing the growth of
technology among the fields of integrative art.
