This presentation summarizes the properties and testing of M-20 grade concrete. M-20 concrete has a cement to fine aggregate to coarse aggregate ratio of 1:1.5:3, and a water content of 0.42 times the cement mass. To test the compressive strength, a frustum shaped mold is made with dimensions of 15cmx15cmx30cm. The mold is filled with concrete and cured for 28 days, then placed in a compression testing machine. The machine reading showed the compressive strength of the M-20 concrete was 38.05 MPa, meeting the required minimum strength for M-20 grade concrete.

CONCRETE Concrete is made up of three basic components: water, aggregate (rock, sand, or gravel) and Portland cement. GRADES OF CONCRETE :- Grade of concrete is defined as the minimum strength the concrete must posses after 28 days of construction with proper quality.
This grade of concrete has ratio of cement , fine aggregate
and coarse aggregate 1:1.5:3 and contains water approximate 0.42 times of cement. CHECKING THE STRENTH OF M-20 GRADE CONCRETE : Volume of frustum = 3.14/3(R2 +r2 +R*r)h we know that, R =20/2 =10 cm r =10/2 =5cm h = 30cm Volume of frustum = 1.0466(100+25+50) *30 = 5494.65ccm = 0.00549metre cube
Mass of concrete inside the frustum = density of concrete * volume of frustum
= 2400*0.00549 = 13.176 Kg SLUMP TEST CALCULATING COMPONENT OF CONCRETE FOR MAKING MOULD FOR TESTING : cement used for mould = 1/5.5(mass of concrete) = 1/5.5 (13.18) = 2.39Kg Fine aggregate for mould = 1.5/5.5(13.18) = 3.59Kg Coarse aggregate for mould = 3/5.5(13.18) = 7.189Kg Water content = mass of cement * 0.42 = 2.39*0.42 = 1.00Lt Now Test Compressive Strenth of concrete :
Firstly, make the moulds of
size 15cm*15cm*15cm For checking the strength of concrete after 7/14/28 days of moulding put the mould inside the compressive strength testing machine and take the readings from the digital screen Reading 2 Reading 1
