exercise since it works many muscles
in the body. Muscles become
stretched, conditioned, and toned
while the heart rate increases,

the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet

• Festival dance-Cultural dances performed to the strong


beats of percussion instruments by a community of people
sharing the same culture usually done in honor of a Patron
Saint or in thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest
• Ethnic Dance- Any dance form which can be identified
as originating with an ethnic culture and expressing
the movement aesthetics of that culture
• Ballroom Dance-a set of partner dances, which are
enjoyed both socially and competitively around the
world.
• Contemporary dance- is a style of expressive dance
that combines elements of several dance genres
including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
• Cheerdance -It is a team physical
activity using organized routines for
the purpose of motivating a sports
team, entertaining an audience, or
competition.
• Streetdance- an informal style of
dance involving a variety of moves,
which is popular with young people
and often developed in public spaces
such as streets, clubs, playgrounds.
• hip hop dance -Refers to street dance styles primarily
performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as
part of hip-hop culture.
