COMPUTER VIRUS
Is an executable program that has the ability to
copy or replicate itself and infect a computer
without the owner knowing it.
MULTI- PARTITE COMPUTER VIRUS
• A computer virus which displays
characteristics of more than one of these
categories.
A Computer virus may be categorized with one
or more of the following designations

• MACRO VIRUSES – email attachment is one of
the many ways these computer viruses

that can exist using the three most popular
web scripting languages: JavaScript, ActiveX,
Java
• SPYWARE- is technically not a virus because it
can’t replicate itself. What spyware does is it
spies you as you surf or do business on the
inernet.

• MEDIA- is defined as a means of
communication that has the power to
influence people.
• MEDIA LITERACY- is the ability to decode,
analyze, evaluate and produce communication
in a variety of forms.
• INFORMATION LITERACY- as the ability to
recognize when the information is needed and to
locate, evaluate, communicate and effectively use
information in its various formats.
• DIGITAL LITERACY- as the ability to responsibly
use appropriate technology to communicate,
solve problems, access, manage and create to
improve learning in all subject areas and acquire
lifelong knowledge and skills in the 21st century.
TYPES OF MEDIA
• PRINTED MEDIA- is the oldest form of
medium. The process of transferring media
text to paper in large quantities
• BROADCAST MEDIA- can be defined as media
that distribute audio and video content to a
mass audience.
• NEW MEDIA- are those information and
entertainment providers accessed via Internet
or through mobile communication.
• MOVIES- are the oldest form of motion picture
technology.
• ADVERTISING- is the mass media content
intended to persuade a targeted audience to
take action toward a product, service or idea.
FIVE CORE CONCEPTS OF MEDIA
LITERACY
• AUTHOR- the origin of piece of work
• FORMAT- the way a communication is
presented.
• AUDIENCE- the people who receives the
message; different people understand the
message in different ways
• CONTENT- a message or message in particular
communication; some of these contain values
and ideas
• PURPOSE- the reason a communication is
made; it could be informing, persuading,
selling, or a combination of any of these.
