 Public Work Department and Project


Implementation Unit (PWD PIU) is the
premier agency of Government of Madhya
Pradesh engaged in Planning, Designing,
Construction and Maintenance of
Government assets like Roads, Bridges ,
Fly Overs and Buildings.
Training At:

We went for training at Public Works


Department. There is a hospital which is
being constructed at MTH compound whose
contract is given to Yogi Constructions
(Ahemdabad) by PWD.
Details Of Project :

 Location – MTH Compound, Siyaganj, Indore(M.P.)
 Name of Company – Yogi Construction Company
 Cost of Project – 35 cr.
 Area of Building – 60,000 sq. ft.
 Built Up Area – 1,32,000 sq. ft.
 Project Management Consultancy – Designers people
Consultant, Nasik.
 Date of Commencement – Dec 2017.
 Area of Individual Room –3m*5m.
 Floor to Floor Height – 3.9m.
 Structure – G+5.

Starter Of Column :

Main function of
starter in the column is
to maintain the
position of shuttering.
Reinforcement of column :

Fe-500 Grade of steel of


diameter 16mm, 20mm,
25mm, 32mm are used. Lap
provided is 50D. Cover
provided is 40mm.
Shuttering Of Column :

Shuttering is
necessary for
concrete work. After
concreting we must
compact it using
vibrator.
Centering and Shuttering of Slab
and Beam:
• Formwork which
supports the horizontal
surface such as beam,
slab bottoms is known
as ‘Centering’.
• Formwork which
supports the vertical
surface is known as
‘shuttering’.
Concreting :

Free fall of the concrete


should not be more than
3 to 5 feet.
Brickwork :

Fly ash bricks of


standard size
190*90*90mm
are used. Mortar
used is in the
ratio of 1:4.
Testing Of Materials :

 Cube testing
 Tests on Brick
 Silt content in sand
 Sieve Analysis
 Setting Time of Cement
 Impact test on aggregate
Conclusion:

 We can conclude that there is difference


between the theoretical and practical work.
We got to learn basics of construction.
