Dhyan Chand ( 29 August 1905 – 3 December

1979) was an Indian field hockey player, who


is widely considered as the greatest field
hockey player of all time.
Sania Mirza (born 15 November 1986) is an Indian professional
tennis player and the current world No. 1 in women's doubles.From
2003 until her retirement from singles in 2013, she was ranked by
the Women's Tennis Association as India's No. 1 player, both in
singles and doubles.
Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj (born 6 January 1959), better
known as Kapil Dev, is a former Indian cricketer. He
captained the Indian cricket team which won the 1983
Cricket World Cup. Named by Wisden as the Indian Cricketer
of the Century in 2002, Kapil Dev is one of the greatest all-
rounders of all time. He was also India's national cricket
coach for 10 months between October 1999 and
Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi (born 7 June 1974) is an Indian
professional tennis player. In 1997, he became the first Indian to
win a Grand Slam tournament (with Rika Hiraki). With his win at
the Australian Open mixed doubles in 2006, he joined the elite
group of eight tennis players who have achieved a career Grand
Slam in mixed doubles. He is also the founder of International
Premier Tennis League.
Karnam Malleswari (born June 1, 1975, in Srikakulam,
Andhra Pradesh) is an Indian weightlifter. During her ten
years career, she has won 11 gold and 3silver medals
besides the prestigious Olympic bronze. She has been the
National Champion for nine years (twice in the 52 kg
category and seven times in the 54 kg category).
Abhinav Singh Bindra (born 28 September 1982, in Dehradun)
is an Indian shooter and is a World and Olympic champion in
the 10 m Air Rifle event. By winning the gold in the 10 m Air
Rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he became
the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the
Olympic Games.
Saina Nehwal (born 17 March 1990) is an Indian badminton
player who is currently ranked No. 2 in the world by
Badminton World Federation Women's Singles 2015.She is the
first Indian to win a medal in Badminton at the Olympics.
Pankaj Arjan Advani (born 24 July 1985 in Pune) is an Indian
professional player of English billiards and former
professional snooker player. In recognition of his
achievements, the Government of India has bestowed
several awards upon Advani—Arjuna Award in 2004, Rajiv
Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2006, and Padma Shri in 2009.
Milkha Singh, "The Flying Sikh" was India's foremost athlete
for close to a decade. He missed out on a gold medal at

was the first Indian footballer ever to sign for a
