Inlet
• Knock out liquids
• Slug catcher
• Meter the gas (selection of gas analyzers)
• Metering skid – a series of flowmeters (one metering skid per pipeline)
• Gas suppliers send a certain volume of gas to the plant for liquefaction
• The plant has to measure the gas received to acknowledge the volumes were received
• Three feed gas lines:
• ECMA (BP) – East Coast Marine
• NCMA (Shell) – North Coast Marine
• CIP (BP) – Cross-Island Pipeline
• Need to meter the gas from each to know how to charge the gas suppliers for processing
• Atlantic does not own the gas – it charges the suppliers for processing and so it needs to meter the gas
accordingly
• Additionally, gas from any of the three pipelines can be routed to any of the four trains – need to meter
the gas to know how much goes to each train since there is a difference in processing costs
CO2 & H2S
• Amine systems are used:
• MGA – Mono Glycol Amine
• DGA – Di Glycol Amine
•…
• CO2 to be removed
• CO2 would freeze in the cold sections of the plant and block the piping –
would need to shut down the plant to defrost it
• H2S
• Acid gases would cause corrosion of carbon steel piping
Dehydration
• Typically there are a series of dehydrator beds used in parallel
• Multiple in service
• One or more in regeneration (removal of water from the beds for bed reuse)
or in standby (ready to dry the gas
• Use of a regeneration gas circuit where hot gas is passed through the bed to strip the
water away from it
