What is Political Participation?
Political participation refers to the activities
and involvement of the mass public in politics,
including, for example, voting in elections,
helping a political campaign, giving money to a
candidate or cause, writing or calling officials,
petitioning, boycotting, demonstrating, and
working with other people on issues.

SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN
We all use the media to inform us. Here, the media report
news and information to the general public. This is the most
significant role of the media in a democratic country because
citizens play a crucial role in the political process and must be
informed in order to make educated political choices. The
media, therefore, must do a thorough and impartial job when
informing the public on all government activities and political
events.
What has the government done to control the spread
of communicable diseases?
Example: TUBERCULOSIS
-is a potentially serious
infectious disease that mainly
affects your lungs. The bacteria
that cause tuberculosis are
spread from one person to
another through tiny droplets
released into the air via coughs
and sneezes.
Controlling the spread of influenza to reduce the effects of
infection on a population is an important mandate of public
health. Department of Health, uses mass media reports on an
epidemic or pandemic to provide important information to the
public, and in turn, can induce positive healthy behavior
practices (i.e., hand-washing, social distancing) in the
individuals, that will reduce the probability of contracting the
disease.
