-TALAWANG

• Talawang is a Dayak Tribe shield or shield made of wood or iron. The rectangular shape is pointed at the top and bottom.
The length of the shaft is about 1 to 2 meters with a maximum width of 50 centimeters. The exterior of the foyer is decorated
with carvings that characterize the Dayak culture, while the interior is handmade.
• The carved figure of the fern is generally considered to be a bird of prey, a bird considered sacred by the Dayak Tribe. At first
the Talawang was used as a complement to self-defense during the war, but in later times the Talawang was also used as a
complement to the traditional dance. As in Ngajat Dance and Mandau Talawang Dance.
• The Talawang is also useful as a social symbol, the Talawang is defined as the identity that is built and maintained in harmony
with it, intended to secure the future of the next generation.

INTRODUCTION

Malaysia boasts a delightful variety of traditional handicrafts. Choices range from priceless
authentic antiques to exquisite modern hand-made crafts. As most artisans are Muslims, Malaysian
handicraft designs are heavily influenced by Islam. The religion prohibits the depiction of the human
form in art. Hence, most designs are based on natural elements such as the interlacing of leaves or
vines, flowers and animals.
-TRADITIONAL BOAT
• The boat is one of the Malay boats. Boat boats are usually only used in quiet waters. It usually
refers to small boats used in coastal areas. Among the smaller boats in the cohort are
skeletons , small cakes, cigars, cookies, carpenters, ducks, and western-made ducks. Other boats

okok.
• Bangau is a piece of board shaped like a hanger it located on the left side of the head or front
of the boat.
• Okok is located on the right side of the boat and is sometimes made from a piece of board
along with a crane.
• Caping are considered the heart of the boat, especially the west coast boat and the shapes of
