Input /out devices

 That used for entering data or information .

 Seven different devices are commonly used
to enter data or information into a computer
.
Keyboard , mouse , point-of-sale terminals ,
image scanners , bar code scanners and
wands , microphone , prerecorded sources
 Text input devices
 • A computer keyboard is a peripheral
partially modeled after the typewriter
keyboard. Keyboards are designed for the
input of text and characters and also to
control the operation of a computer.
 This is used to select and move items that

location on your monitor screen. When you
move your mouse on your desk, the pointer
moves as well.

of a flat board that fills the bottom of the
system unit.
 This board contains the microprocessor, any
microprocessor chips, RAM chips, ROM chips,
some other types of memory, and expansion
slots, where additional circuit boards, called
expansion boards, may be lugged in.
 The results of inputting and processing data
and information returned by the computer ,
either directly to the person using the system
or to secondary storage
 The PRINTER produces a paper copy of the
information displayed on your screen or
contained in a document..
 Audio/ sound can be hard through either an
internal or external speakers.
 Isanother component of your computer. The
text and images generated by your computer
are displayed on its screen.
 Diskettes
A storage medium that is external to computer
, but that can be ready by the computer; a
way of storing data and information outside
the computer itself .
 Hard Disk
A general term referring to two types of disk:
flexible /floppy disks and hard disks . This
can store more data and provide more rapid
storage and retrieval of data and information
.
 Optical Disks
A type of disk that information can be read
from but not written onto .
