INTRODUCTION

 The globalization , competition and technological


innovation has changed the business scenario across
the world.
 The packaging and transportation of cargo have also
changed more efficiently.
 The cost of handling , transportation and storage may
also exceed the cost of production.
 In 1960’s Indian railways started door to door receipt
and delivery services in these containers in selected
metropolitan cities
EVOLUTION OF CONCOR:

 In view of growing countries domestic & international trade ,


the gov of India has decided to form organization to take
care of logistic services.
 The company was setup under the direct administrative
control of ministry of railways , which has a share of 63.09%.
 CONCOR has honoured Mini Ratna status.
 The memorandum and articles of associations amended in
1999 in which special powers are given to the directors of the
company to make investment in joint ventures and
subsidiaries.
THE COMPANY

 Container corporation of India ltd(CONCOR), was


incorporated in march 1988 under the companies Act
,and commenced operation from November 1989
taking over the existing network of 7 ICDs from the Indian
railways.
 It is now an undisputed market leader having the largest
network of 83 ICDs/CFSs in India.
 It also has expanded to cover management of ports , air
cargo complexes and establishing cold chain.

 It is a web based application for EXIM locations being operational
at terminal/inland container depot of CONCOR.
 It is to provide one platform for entire import/export trade to
perform online all their commercial transactions with EXIM locations
from anywhere
