What is Aquatic Sports?

• These are sports that involve bodies of water. Aquatics, swim, or


swimming
• Aquatic sports in the Olympics and other international competitions,
including the disciplines of swimming, diving, synchronized swimming,
water polo, and open water swimming
• Water-related sports more broadly including boat racing, water skiing,
swimming, etc.
• Diving it is the sport of jumping off
springboards or platforms into water
• Snorkeling is the practice of swimming at
the surface (typically of the sea) being
equipped with a mask, fins, and a short tube
called a snorkel.
• Swimming including pool swimming and
open water swimming
• Triathlon it is a multi-sport event involving
the completion of three continuous and
sequential endurance events, usually a
combination of swimming, cycling and
running
• Canoe polo also known as kayak polo, is
one of the competitive disciplines of kayaking,
known simply as "polo" by its aficionados.
• Dragon boat racing teams of 20 paddlers

• Canoeing is an activity which involves
paddling a canoe with a single-bladed paddle.
• Jet Skiing is the brand name of a personal water craft
manufactured by Kawasaki, a Japanese company. The term is
often used generically to refer to any type of personal watercraft
used mainly for recreation, and it is also used as a verb to
describe the use of any type of PWC.
• Kiteboating or kite boating is the act of
using a kite rig as a power source to propel a
boat. It is a type of surface water sport, but it
also has transportation uses
• Paddleboarding it is when a person is
propelled on a surf style board using a long
paddle
• Parasailing where a person is towed
behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while
attached to a parachute
• Rafting are recreational outdoor activities
which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river
or other body of water. This is often done on
whitewater or different degrees of rough
water.
• Wakeboarding is similar to water skiing,
but using only one board attached to the feet
• Yachting sailing on yachts, daysailing,
cruising or Yacht racing
• Cave diving is underwater diving in
water-filled caves. It may be done as an
extreme sport.
• Mermaiding is the practice of wearing,
and often swimming in, a costume mermaid
tail.
Artistic or Synchronized swimming
It consists of swimmers performing a synchronized
routine of elaborate moves in the water, accompanied
by music.
Modern pentathlon
It includes épée fencing, pistol shooting, swimming, a
show jumping course on horseback, and cross country
running
Barefoot skiing
It is waterskiing without skis
Body boarding
It is similar to surfing, but the board is smaller and the
person (normally) lies down on the board
Cable skiing
It is similar to wake boarding but with cables for artificial
maneuvering
Aquathlon
is an underwater sport where two
competitors wearing masks and
fins wrestle underwater in an
attempt to remove a ribbon from
each other's ankle band in order
to win the bout.
Finswimming
It is an underwater sport
consisting of four techniques
involving swimming with the use
of fins
Underwater football
It is a two-team underwater sport that shares common
elements with underwater hockey and underwater
rugby.
Underwater hockey
It is a game played underwater which has some
similarities to hockey.
Underwater rugby
It is a game played underwater which has some
similarities to rugby football.
