Marking of columns
Labour’s Shelter
It is a temporary
structure made for the convenience
of labourers.
Construction of Foundation
-Excavation of earth.
-Laying of cement concrete.
-Laying footing in case of raft or column construction.
-Laying Anti termite treatment.
-Laying Brick work up to plinth level.
-Laying Damp proof course on the walls.
-Refilling of earth around the walls.
-Refilling of earth in the building portion up to the required
height according to plinth level.
Excavation of Land:
Laying of Reinforced Cement Concrete
Foundation and Footing:
Laying Footings for Column Construction:
Marking of Columns on Foundation:
Casting of RCC Columns:
RCC column is a structural member of RCC frame structured
building. It’s vertical member which transfers loads from slab and
beam directly to subsequent soil.
Material used in columns:
Cement
Coarse aggregate
Fine aggregate
Steel bar
Water
Shuttering
Construction of brick wall up to plinth
level:
Brick wall is made using traditional brick of dimension
230mm*115mm*75mm.
Plinth Level
Beam laid above the foundation i.e. at plinth level is called PLINTH
BEAM.
PLINTH BEAM is important part of a structure which transfers load
to the adjacent columns. The void between the foundation and
plinth level is filled with compacted soil. Brick masonry is usually
constructed below the PLINTH BEAM. This beam is normally
provided in framed structure for proper framing of structure and
transferring the live load as well as dead loads of super structure on
the foundation.
Laying Plinth Beam Reinforcement
Framed structure is meant to join all the columns thereby reducing the
effective length and reducing the slenderness of the column.
Two bars with minimum diameter of 12mm at the bottom of the beam.
Similarly, two bars with minimum diameter of 10 mm shall be provided
at the top of the plinth beam.
Reinforcement bar should be protected by 25 mm concrete cover.
Stirrup diameter should be at least 6mm and spacing of 15mm should be
sufficient.
Plinth Beam Casting
Extension of Columns
Casting of Slab
MATERIAL USED IN SLAB CASTING:
Cement
Coarse aggregate
Fine aggregate
Steel bar
Binding wires
Water
Shuttering materials i.e., wooden planks and iron plates
ELECTRICAL PIPING IN
SLAB REINFORCEMENT
Slab Laying Process
According to work arrangement laying of RCC slab can be done
in 4 stages;
Formwork
Bending and binding steel bars
Spacing of steel bars
Laying of cement concrete
