Q1. Briefly describe the situation from the standpoint of the four main characters, Tapan, Harish,
Rahul and Suyin

Tapan : Project is falling short of the schedule and seems to be not completed on time.
He will not meet his project target as a department head because my sub ordinates.

Suyin : She is not getting autonomy and being micromanaged. Also subordinates is not
up to the mark and are incompetent. And she feels she will fail for the first time.

Rahul : My work is not being appreciated by Tapan. Like Suyin , he also feels lack of
autonomy and being micromanages. He doesn’t mind being isolated but he needs to
be at the top performer of the project and seeks attention from Tapan.

Harish: He felt dejected because he is not being accommodated and also his work is
being constantly criticized by Suyin.
Q2.Identify for each of them their typical
i. Emotions / moods :
Tapan – Nervous and high strung
Suyin – Worrying and anxious
Harish - dejected, feeling lonely, discouraged
Rahul - Curious, Seeking spotlight, over enthusiastic
ii. Thoughts:
Tapan – don’t want to fail, as this is first project as first department head.
Suyin – My boss is not giving authority and my subodirnate is ineffective.
Harish – My boss doesn’t believe in my abilities and doesn’t like me.
Rahul – I am the best and have proven myself.
Q2.Identify for each of them their typical

Tapan – aggressive and authoritative
Suyin – authoritative and needs to do everything by herself
Harish – to be pampered and cajoled
Rahul – Selfish and exhibitionist
Q3. What are the consequences (positive/supporting and negative/limiting) of these
behaviors / thoughts / emotions?

Positive/Supporting

• Tapan – Winner, can make things happen


• Suyin – Perfectionist
• Harish – Hard working, sincere.
• Rahul – Intelligent, confident.

Negative/Limiting

• Tapan – pressurizing himself and not allowing others freedom


• Suyin – not able to do her own job on time as she doesn’t believe in others
• Harish – Not happy, feels dejected and not able to do his job
• Rahul – Not able to work in a team and is thinking of himself only

• Suyin – frustrated, burn out

• Rahul – Anxious and not getting appreciated

• Tapan – Not able to handle deadlines

• Rahul – under pressure to out perform her
