CORRELATION
Pearson Correlation – To find the relationship between speed of the vehicle
and fuel consumption.
Hypotheses:
Ho : There is no effect of speed on fuel consumption.
Ha : There is a significant effect of speed on fuel consumption.

Interpretation – From the above table it is seen that the p value is less than
alpha value (0.0 < 0.01). Hence the null hypothesis is rejected and it is
concluded that there is a significant (as r = -0.228) effect of speed on fuel
consumption(they are inversely proportional).
ONE-WAY ANOVA
Test for homogeneity

Hypothesis
Ho : The means of the two groups are same.
Ha : The means of one group is different from the other.

Interpretation - From the above table it is seen that the p value is

less than alpha value (0.0 < 0.01). Hence the null hypothesis is
rejected and it is concluded that the means of one group is different
for the other.
KRUSKAL-WALLIS TEST
Hypothesis
Ho : The distribution of speed is the same across categories of gas_type.
Ha : The distribution of speed is different across categories of gas_type

Interpretation - From the above table it is seen that the p value is greater
than alpha value (0.064 > 0.01). Hence the null hypothesis is accepted
and it is concluded that The distribution of speed is the same across
categories of gas_type
CHI-SQUARE
Hypothesis
 Ho : There is no association between fuel consumption and gas type.

 Ha : There is association between fuel consumption and gas type.

Interpretation - From the above table it is seen that the p value is

greater than alpha value (0.344 > 0.01). Hence the null hypothesis is
accepted and it is concluded that there is no association between fuel
consumption and gas type.
