 Impacts of Mismanaged Trash
 Trash can travel throughout the world's rivers and oceans, accumulating on beaches and within gyres. This debris
harms physical habitats, transports chemical pollutants, threatens aquatic life, and interferes with human uses of river,
marine and coastal environments.
 Of all trash, plastic trash has the greatest potential to harm the environment, wildlife and humans. It can be found
floating at the surface, suspended in the water column, or on the bottom of almost all water bodies. It is transported by
rivers to the ocean, where it moves with the currents, and is often eaten by birds and fish, concentrating toxic
chemicals in their tissues, and filling their stomachs, causing them to starve. Plastic aquatic debris is much more than
a mere aesthetic problem.
 POSITIVE EFFECT

the environment. If used properly, waste can have several benefits, including:
 1. As Organic Fertilizer for Plants
Waste from organic waste can be used as fertilizer for plant fertilizers by turning waste into compost. Compost can improve
soil structure, by increasing soil organic matter and increasing the ability of soil to maintain water content in the soil
 2. Humus Source
Decomposed orgnic rubbish such as can be the topsoil needed for the soil to maintain soil fertility. as well as being a good
food source for plants, increasing the capacity of soil water content, preventing soil dredging, increasing soil aeration, enhancing
chemical photos of decomposition of pesticides or toxic organic compounds.
 3. Trash Can Be Recycled
Plastic and paper waste can be recycled into useful items such as beautiful furniture products. or recycled back into raw
materials for making plastic or paper products.
 4. Used as Alternative Fuels
Waste decay can produce a gas called methane gas which can be used as an alternative fuel for
household or small industry needs.

 5. Become a Source of Electricity

Waste can indirectly be used as an alternative power source by changing the waste to produce methane
gas, where this gas can be used as fuel to run the power plant.
 NEGATIVE EFFECT
The negative impacts of plastic waste pollution include:

 Careless disposal of plastic waste will cause siltation of the river and clogged river flow that causes flooding.
 Groundwater and soil contamination.
 Plastic bags will interfere with water absorption into the ground.
 Reduce soil fertility.
 Toxins from plastic particles that enter the soil will kill decomposition animals in the soil such as worms.
 Animals can get tangled up in plastic trash.

SOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM
 Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
Cultivate the lifestyle of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle or commonly
known as 3R, from yourself. Get used to reduce the use of plastic or
other materials that are difficult to decompose.

The easiest way to manage organic waste is to make it into compost
that you can use for gardening
Inorganic Waste Management
Some inorganic waste can be recycled, such as paper, cardboard,
glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans and others.

 Conclucion From the discussion above we can conclude that in order to deal with the waste
problem as a whole it is necessary to conduct alternative management properly. There are
many things that we can do in handling the waste problem, all of which cannot just be hung
as a burden on the government. Garbage from various sources can pollute the environment,
both land, sea and air environments. Although there are still many other things that we have
to do, it does not mean that garbage can be forgotten, because a little more or less rubbish
that is scattered will affect and interfere in everyday life. that's why from now on we wake
up understanding and awareness of the dangers of garbage, and we must know our
comfortable and beautiful day without garbage
