TYPES OF CYBER CRIME
1. HACKING

Hacking is an attempt to exploit a computer system


or a private network inside a computer. Simply put, it is
the unauthorised access to or control over computer
network security systems for some illicit purpose.
It is also known as cracking, government websites are
the hot target
The motive behind this crimes are greed,
publicity, revenge access forbidden information etc.

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IS A FORM


OF CHILDSEXUAL EXPLOITATION. FEDERAL LAW
DEFINES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AS ANY VISUAL
DEPICTION OF SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONDUCT
INVOLVING A MINOR (PERSONS LESS THAN 18
YEARS OLD). IMAGES OFCHILD
PORNOGRAPHY ARE ALSO REFERRED TO
AS CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE .

CYBERTERRORISM IS DEFINED BY U.S. FEDERAL
BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION AS A PREMEDITATED
ATTACK AGAINST A COMPUTER SYSTEM, COMPUTER
DATA, PROGRAMS AND OTHER INFORMATION WITH THE
SOLE AIM OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CLANDESTINE
AGENTS AND SUBNATIONAL GROUPS. THE MAIN AIM
BEHIND CYBERTERRORISM IS TO CAUSE HARM AND
DESTRUCTION.
CYBER CRIME IN IPC AND IT ACT( 2000)
• In order to prevent the various crimes in cyberspace, India adopted
and placed the Information Technology Act 2000. It was the first step
towards controlling and curbing cybercrimes.
• The case of State of Tamil Nadu v. Suhas Katti can be considered
as a landmark case in the history of Cyber Crime Management in
India. This was the first case in India wherein the offender was
convicted under S.67 of IT ACT 2000 of India.
• Cyberlaw or Internet law is a term that encapsulates the legal issues
related to use of the Internet. In other words it detects, convits and
punishes the offerender and protects the rightful user.
