• What is Health?
As officially defined

physical, mental, and
social well-being, not

everything from the
absence of disease to

Lifestyle: diet, level of physical activity, and
behavior (for instance, smoking);
Human biology: a person’s genetics and
physiology may make it easier or harder to achieve
good physical health;

factors such as sunlight or toxic substances;

concentration, our attention, our memory, our ability to

also lead to weight gain, depression, potentially fatal
errors, and cause serious health problems such as
stroke, heart attack or diabetes.
 Hydration & Think Reusable

energy level and your mood.

what you are already drinking.

water.

money, and harmful to the environment

vegetables. Nutrition is not about weight, it’s about
health. It’s about fuelling your body with good energy
sources so that it can work at its optimum capacity.
- Buy locally grown produce
from farmer’s market or grow
your own to ensure its
freshness and to make sure
if any pesticides or other
chemicals that could pose a
danger to the earth, or your
health, were used on them.
 Good hygiene

helps lower the risk for disease, illness, and medical
conditions caused by the effects of poor hygiene.

play sports, etc.

health- and environment-
improving benefits of having
trees around include reducing
your air-conditioning costs by
providing shade; raising the
property value and resale
appeal of your home; pulling
carbon dioxide out of the
environment and creating
oxygen; improved water quality;
and providing you with calming
surroundings.
• Reasons Why We Need To Take Care of
our Body and the Environment
- A healthy body sets the stage for your day-to-day
well-being and determines how well you'll age. It
also allows you to live an active and more full life,
which means you'll have a better quality of life as
you age.
- Fewer sick days
- Improved mental health: Maintaining a healthy
body and a healthy lifestyle can also keep you
happier and more balanced mentally.
- A clean environment is vital to not only to our own healthy
living, but survival of all living things.

- Air pollution may increase risk of heart attacks, asthma,

bronchitis, and premature mortality. There is also evidence
to suggest that most indoor air can be up to five times more
toxic than it is outdoors.

- Water pollution may increase risks of gastrointestinal

illness, reproductive problems, and neurological disorders.

- When you think of the environment as something that may

actually be hurting us if we don’t take care of it, the need for
a resolution becomes much clearer.
