Architecture of compartments
• Extreme customer safety due to highest class
• LSC 2B PM 1
• Most critical parts in sealed compartment
• 3 in 1 embedded architecture

17
17
Extra safety due to
Double point of Isolation

• Highest safety for the operator.

• 2 points of isolation:
 2-position change-over
switch
 Vacuum interrupter
• changing-over in air
• interrupting in vacuum
• Simple operating mechanism
• Same set-up for CB and LBS

18
18
Construction simplicity due to same
housing construction and main parts
• All panels have same depth
• Block panels have same width (350mm)
• Modular panels have same width (500mm)
• Any sequence is possible

19
19
Mechanism – location & type
• both function (interruption & change-over) integrated
• same for LBS and CB
• same for block and E-versions
• housed in sealed for life tank
• maintenance free
• spring type

20
20
Mechanism - operation
• hand or motor-operated
• motor only for the breaker (LBS / CB), not for change-over switch

Closing
The closing spring is charged first (manually with the operation handle or by motor), automatically
followed by the closing movement. During the closing movement the opening springs are charged
automatically.
Opening
Opening is achieved by pressing the red mechanical trip pushbutton on the front or by energizing
the trip coil via the integrated overcurrent protection relay or via a remote trip signal.

Panel provided with one clamp with a diameter of
66-90 or 50-75 mm, suitable for the following
cables:

Single phase cables

Panel provided with three clamps with a
diameter of 36-52 or 26-38 mm, suitable
for the following max. cable diameters:

26
26
Cable connectors
• Not supplied with the Xiria delivery!
• various types can be installed

Interlocks – Built-in types
• Interlock to prevent cable access from being opened if cable is not earthed
• Interlock to prevent operation of the change-over switch when the circuit-
breaker or load-break switch is in the ON position
• Interlock to prevent operation of the vacuum interrupter when the change-
over switch is not in an end position (busbar or earth position)
• The operating handle can only be removed in an end position. (vacuum
interrupter fully open or closed, change-over switch fully in busbar or earth
position)

44
44
Interlocks – padlockable types
• The active earthed position of the circuit-breaker or load break switch
can be locked with a padlock (only possible with cable access
compartment door closed)
• Interlock of the OFF button of the circuit-breaker or load break switch.
(switching off by the protective relay, if fitted, remains possible)
• Interlock of the OFF position of the circuit-breaker or load break
switch. Use is made of a separate accessory (padlockable locking
scissor) which is placed in the access hole for the operating handle of
the vacuum interrupter.

45
45
Interlocks – castell lock
• Provides that the key needs to be installed before the panel can be
switched to service position
• In case the key is removed the door can not be installed
• Without the door installed the panel can not be switched to service
position

Internal Arc Test (IAC) – Tested ratings

• The panels within the Xiria familiy are tested for IAC
with classification AFL
A = Authorized personnel
F = Front (position of indicators)
L = Lateral (position of indicators)
• Standard all panels are tested for 20 kA-1s
• Exception for:
 Metering panel -> 16 kA-1s
 In case a chimney is installed behind a panel -> 16 kA-1s
