THE AVERAGE TIME

S P ENT ON GOING TO
SCHOOL BY THE
GRADE 11 CSS
STUDENTS
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE:

Every day, turning up at high school on time helps the academic

performance of students and future professional behaviors. Students who arrive
early at school have an advantage over peers who walk through the door after
the start of the day. Consistent, unexcused delay can result in short-term
penalties and lifelong consequences. High school students are well-advised not
only to know the benefits of early appearance, but also the disadvantages of late
appearance (Colorado. 2008).
Perform Well, a non-profit research policy and academic group, states that lower grades
and lower scores on standardized tests are correlated with regular tardiness. It is also linked to
low graduation rates. Furthermore, students at the primary and middle school grades who are
chronically late are more likely to fail or even drop out at senior school. Morning routines are
vital to daily lessons in many classrooms, particularly at the primary level. Morning routines are
vital to daily lessons in many classrooms, especially at the primary level. Warm-up exercises may
incorporate topics to be learned later in the day, or review research offers an opportunity for
students to update previously learned skills (Scott, 2016).

Several studies have shown that tardiness in school has a detrimental impact on the
results of education. Students receive fewer hours of instruction than students who are in class
when the bell sounds due to the sheer necessity of arriving late or missing school hours. But not
only does a student who arrives late at school regularly develop bad habit of punctuality, their
lateness often disrupts other students ' learning in their classes (Vucovic, 2017).
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION:

The researchers of the study the average time spent in going to

school is limited to the students of Rizal High School. This research will cover
the Senior High School students of Rizal High School. The researchers will
specifically associate the Grade 11 students. This research will include the
Grade 11 CSS A and CSS B students. The researcher took 30 samples each
from the CSS A and CSS B students.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

This study focuses on the average time spent on going to school by the students. It
seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What time do you usually wake up?
2. What is/are the daily routine that takes you too long to do every morning?
3. What is/are the mode of transportation that you use in going to school?
4. How many hours does it usually take you in going to school?
STATISTICAL TREATMENT:

HYPOTHESIS:

Ho: There is no difference in time spent in going to school between the CSS B
and CSS A students.
Ha: There is a difference in time spent in going to school between the CSS B and
CSS A students.

CONCLUSION:

Step#1: Given Step#2: Hypothesis

• n = 30
Ho: There is no difference in time spent in going to school
• μ = 29.63
• σ = 21.18 between the CSS B and CSS A students.

• x̄ = 47.83
Ha: There is a difference in time spent in going to school
• s = 34.01
between the CSS B and CSS A students.
• CL = 95%
• t = 2.045
Step#3: Normal Curve

Step#4: Solving Step#5: Conclusion

t = x̄ - μ / (σ / √n) Reject the Ho (null hypothesis)

t= 47.83 – 29.63 / (21.18 / √30) Accept the Ha (alternative hypothesis)

t= 40.16757348 or 40.17
