INTRODUCTION

• High-rise structures are an important indicator of a country’s

economic and technological strength.

• Due to various architectural features and style, more and more

complex high-rise buildings are appearing.

• Oblique Columns are neither parallel nor at right angles to a

specified line means they are slanted or rotated at an angle.

CONCLUSIONS FROM LITERATURE
REVIEW

• Oblique column is more seismic resistant than conventional

columns.

• The lateral loads are resisted by structure with Oblique

columns.

• The top storey displacement is very much less in Oblique

structure as compared to the simple RC Frame building.

• Studies were conducted in RC structures only.

CONCLUSION
• Structure provides more resistance in the oblique column building
compared to normal column - which makes the structural system
more effective.

• Oblique column is more seismic resistant than conventional

column.

• Oblique column of 850 has a minimum value of storey

displacement, drift and shear than other inclinations.

• Oblique column of 700 has a maximum value of storey

displacement, drift and shear than other inclinations.

FUTURE SCOPE

• Further studies can be recommended for this work by:

– modifying the shapes of column

– using different materials in analyzing the structure
– using different seismic zones for seismic analysis
– using irregular plans

• Work can be extended to wind analysis
