LITERATURE
Is defined as creative writing of recognize artistic value. It reflects the
works of imagination and aestitics of writing . It is distinguished for the
beauty of style or expression. Likewise, fiction, poetry, or drama in
distinction from scientific treatises may contain positive knowledge.

FICTION
This a manipulated story which is not presented as
objectively as possible. It is therefore, in realistic, the
readers are transported to a make believe word.
◦Basically, this work fiction can be classified
Into three.
◦1) Historical fiction ( when your literary work is
base on a persons previous experiences)
◦2) Science fiction ( a work emphasizing the
present of aliens and reaching the future
extraordinary)
◦3) Fantasy ( when you are to include monster
magical elements and supernatural powers).
UNLOCKING DIFFICULTY

We are all story tellers. We love to tell stories


about ourseleves and about others about life,
about the here and now, about what have been
and hat might be, about anything at all within
the range of our imagination (Sialongo &
Tendero, 2012),
1. Setting is the tie and place in which the events of story occur.
It consists of the use o evaporative portrayal of a regions istinctive ways of
thoughts ad behavior of the called local color exemplified by the superficial
elements of setting, dialect, and customs,

2. Characters are the representations of a human being in a story.


They are complex combination of both inner and outer self.
Characterization is the method used by the writer to reveal the personality each
character.

Kinds of Characters
According to principally:

Protagonist is the character with whom the reader empathizes.


◦ According to Development
◦ *Dynamic is the character that exhibits noticeable development.
◦ *static is the character who exhibits no changes and development.

◦ According Personality:
◦ *Round is the character that display different or multiple personalities throughut the
story.
◦ *Flat is the character that reveals conventional traits, who remains the same
throughout the story. Its characterization does not grow.
3. Theme is a significant truth about life and its nature which takes place in the illustrations
of the actions, preoccupation, and decisions of the characters.
4. Plot is the sequence of events in the story, arranged and linked by causality.
Kinds of Plot
Plot is the selection of events (story) based on relevance
(cause-effect) and suggestiveness (provocative scenes), ordering
of action to reveal exposition, complication leading to crisis – turn
– reversal, and the resolution, which leads to denouement and
ending (Bascara, 2003).

◦ Linear moves with the natural sequence of events where actions are
arranged sequentially.
◦ Circular is a kind of plot where linear development of the story merges with
an interruption in the chronological order to show on event that happened
the past.
◦ En Medias Res plot that commences in the middle of the story.
Part of a plot
◦ Exposition sets the scene by introducing the situation and settings and
likewise lays out the characters by introducing their environment,
characteristics, pursuit, purposes, limitations, potentials and basic
consumptions.
◦ Complications is the start of major conflict in the plot.
◦ Crisis it establishes curiosity, uncertainty, and tension; it requires a
decisions.
◦ Climax is the peak of the story which leads to an affirmation, a
decision, an action, or even a realization. This is the point of greatest
emotional intensity, interest of the plot.
◦ Denouement is the finishing of things right after the climax, and shows
the resolution of the lot.
◦ Ending brings the story back to its equilibrium.
