Whats is STRESS

Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of


demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your
nervous system response by releasing a flood of stress
hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which
rouse the body for emergency action.

 Stress can be defined as our mental, physical,


emotional, and behavioral reactions to any
perceived demands or threats.

How will you deal with stress?


Get enough sleep

Sleep at least 6-8 hours


Maintaning - practise some good sleep habits
Avoid caffeine and nicottine in the evening
Minimise sleep distruction with a dark, quiet
bedroom
Nutrition tips to help handle stress

Eat regularly during the day


Drink a lot of water
Increase the fibre content of your diet
Slow down and relax at meal time
Eat when your hungry and stop when your stomach
full
E.g bread, vegetables, fruits
To calm ( Relax )

Listen to music that calm your mind – oldies ’70,’80


Breathe in and exhale deep slowly - several time
Take a shower – aromatheraphy
Meditation - Focuses on relaxation ( 10 min/day )
