Massive Poverty:
Critical thinking question: Which solution would best solve the problem of massive
poverty? Why? The federal gov’t should provide tax breaks to business owners and the
wealthy. Wealthy business owners can then invest more in their businesses, which will
allow them to create jobs. The federal gov’t should not provide direct relief to the poor,
since this will only encourage dependency on federal programs and cause people to stop
looking for work. Poverty relief should be left to private charities, states, and local gov’t
Instead of just giving the money away to the poor, investing money by giving the
wealthy a break and opening/creating jobs for the poor. Auctioning off with
charities and fundraising organizations to balance out the poverty. Also fixing the
high unemployment and allowing people to make money but, not making them
dependable to rely just on the gov’t for money, food and other goods.
Main course
Unable to provide for their children barely themselves, these families were put out
to starve to death. No showers, clean water, everything unsanitary, people selling
their kids for not even a half a loaf a bread. All of these homeless and unemployed
people not being able to provide for their families. While the wealthy and the
government just watch and let it happen instead of not doing anything giving the
wealthy a break and create jobs for the poor allowing them to pay for the over
production of the goods. That’s just the society that we live in where if it doesn’t
affect you it doesn’t matter

How has social media imported such issues in the 21st century? Find an example
such as today.

Into the second day of the year 2020 rumors/ misinterpretations of a ww3
happening from unknown knowledge that wasn’t fully attained. So the media
making lies and memes of conflicts and scandals could have started it. Yellow
journalism in the 20s could have been an effect that changed it all.
HIPPO
H:
HIPPO
The: the suffering pain of a women selling 4 of her children just for money maybe
even a little bit of food

H: the children are covered in dirt, their clothes look worn out and all of them are put
together to grab attention.

I: the mother is in the background what seems as if she’s crying and they aren’t even
under a tent they are standing/sitting on brick steps

P: a photographer to get attention for propaganda for the great depression

P: the purpose of taking this photo was to give guilt within the people who just
watched and didn’t help

O: like the soldiers during the revolutions and other wars lack of food mixing the
supply and using what they have to eat and survive like breadlines and soup kitchens
