HRMS AT ASKARI LEASING

 The HRMS at Askari Leasing Limited:

 Is a management system that combines
many human resources functions,

HRMS AT ASKARI LEASING
(Contd…1)

 From the very inception of the Company in

1993, Foxpro was used as a programming
language and an RDBMS.

 Most of the business functions e.g. Human
Resources and Administration, Operations,
Treasury, Finance & Accounts etc were
completely reliant on this software
application for mapping their business
processes.

 Unfortunately, the software application could
not provide leverage to the Executive
Management and the experts who required

 There were major integration issues between

the business functions/departments and
employees had to heavily rely on paper work.
E.g. data compatibility, inconsistency,
redundancy etc.

 It was around the mid of the year 2002-2003
that initiatives were taken to convert the
legacy systems into a powerful integrated
system using Oracle as a platform for
managing business process flows and
information.

 Unfortunately, out of all other business functions

 Eventually, the Oracle experts were hired and

the existing staff possessing competency at
Foxpro were combined to form specialized
teams for the migration of a large RDBMS in
Foxpro to that of Oracle.
 In the year 2008-2009, the Human Resources
department was separated from that of
Administration. Its importance was felt deeply
and immediately thereafter rapid initiatives
were taken towards the development of a
HRMS.

(Contd…4)

 The primary objective was to acquire a

complete and accurate HR management
information system that provided not only a
basis for normal HR operations but also
provide important grounds for analysis and
decision making by the Corporate HR Team.

 Eventually, three modules of the HRMS out
of seven were implemented successfully
in June 2009, while work on the remaining is
proactively underway.

HRMS AT ASKARI LEASING
(Contd…5)

 Thus with the HRMS roadmap in view, the Corporate HR

department at Askari Leasing went through a series of
transition from Personnel files management and payroll
to a mere information providing HRIS via Foxpro to a
world’s largest enterprise software HRMS provider
Oracle for strategic decision making.

PURPOSE OF HRMS
 Efficiency :
 The efficiency is aimed towards minimizing the
conventional style of filing and accumulation of
paperwork. Moreover, this provides a direct impact on
many HR activities which can be performed more
efficiently.
 Effectiveness:
 The effectiveness refers to the accessibility of data,
enabling our HR planning and managerial decision
making to be based to a greater extent on information
rather than relying on managerial perception and
intuition.
A TYPICAL HRMS
STRUCTURE
 A typical HRMS structure comprises of a total of
seven modules that include:

resources module all others were migrated
on Oracle, while the HR module was
developed in Foxpro.
