it’s about him losing his memories that are dear to
him, his love one probably Virginia Allen
A Dream Within a Dream
• Take t

Take this kiss upon the brow! I stand amid the roar
And, in parting from you now,
Of a surf-tormented shore,
his kiss upon the brow! And I hold within my hand

Thus much let me avow — Grains of the golden sand —

How few! yet how they creep

You are not wrong, who deem
Through my fingers to the deep,
That my days have been a dream;
While I weep — while I weep!
Yet if hope has flown away
O God! Can I not grasp
In a night, or in a day,
Them with a tighter clasp?

In a vision, or in none, O God! can I not save

Is it therefore the less gone?  One from the pitiless wave?

Is all that we see or seem

All that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
Is but a dream within a dream.
Theme
• Losing The one he love so much
• Hope
• Desperation
• A Dream that was dreamed of
• Heart of feeling
• Heartfelt from the author
Feeling
In this poem, every verse contained very deep meaning
“Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none,
The lyric or the words are so philosofy “I stand amid
the roar, Of a surf-tormented shore, And I
hold within my hand, Grains of the golden sand
Full of dissapointed “You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream”
Tones
• We can see in this poem, the author needs solution about
his poblem. The author put in this lyric “Is it therefore the
less gone?”.
• The author was asking to somebody how. So in this poem
the auhtor wants to know for the readers what he feels and
what he wants to tell about his heart feeling
And also the auhtor was depressed, i think because of his wife
was gone and he can’t accept that “O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?”.
