    A 4-year-old female goat presented with a dog bite wound to its left teat that was draining milk. Clinical examination revealed a lacerated wound communicating with the teat canal. The goat was diagnosed with a teat fistula. It underwent local anesthesia and surgical debridement of the wound edges. The teat canal mucosa was sutured with chromicized catgut in a locking stitch pattern. The outer skin was sutured with nylon in a cross-mattress pattern.      Animal presented to vcc with H/O dog bite
    wound to left quarter of the udder
     Milk is coming throgh wound
     Animal is parturated 3 days back
    CLINICAL EXAMINATION

    GENERAL NORMAL DEFAECATION NORMAL


    APPEARANCE URINATION
    GAIT NORAML RECTAL 103.5 F
    TEMPERATURE
    BODY GOOD HEART RATE 90 BPM
    CONDITION
    MENTAL STATUS ACTIVE PRESCAPULAR NORMAL
    LYMP NODE
    VMM PINK
    CLINICAL EXAMINATION
     Lacerated wound is observed on left teat of
    udder
     External wound has the communication with

    teat canal
     Dribbling of milk from the wound is observed
    DIAGNOSIS: Teat fistula/Dogbite wound

    PRE OPERATIVE
     Animal is restrained in lateral

    recumbency
     Wound is cleaned with PP

    solution and NS
     Accumulated milk is removed

    by using teat siphon


     surgical debridement is done

    with BP blade for freshening of


    wound edges
    Anaesthesia
     Local anaesthesia with 1% lignocaine
    infiltrated in ring pattern at the base of the
    affected teat
     Method of anaesthesia : ring block
    suturing
     Test canal mucosa
    with chromicized
    CATGUT (size-1.0)
    suture pattern :lock
    stitch pattern
    Outer skin suture
     Outer skin sutured with
    Nylon(1/0)
     Suture pattern: cross

    matress pattern
     Bandaging is done
    with povidine
    iodine and
    adhesive tapes
    applied
    Suportive treatment
     Inj:Enrox -1.5 ml I/M
     Inj:Melaxicam -1.5 ml I/M

    ADVISED FOR POST BITE RABIES VACCINATION


    0th,3th,7th, 14th ,21st day
    Post operative care
     Advised to remove the milk using teat siphon
     Intramammary therapy
     Melaxicam: 1.5 ml I/M
     Daily dressing with povidine iodine
    Review of treatment
     2 tier sutures needed in goats for closure of
    teat fistula
     Proglactin 910-(3/0) can be used to suture

    mucosa and sub mucosa


     Silk (2/0 ) used for the suturing of outer skin
     polyvinyltube /infant feeding tube -gauze

    size(5) it can also used for intramamary tube


     Serratopeptidaes-120mg-po-BID
     Milking is should be through teat siphon
