I would advise students to research companies in
which they are interested and make direct contact
to see what they are offering this summer.

I would recommend that students take an online
course in an area of interest to them in order to
stay engaged in learning.  Many schools are
offering free online courses.

A course I would highlight is Yale University's The
Science of WellBeing.  This course focuses on
nurturing happiness and more productive habits.
My experience has been that maintaining
motivation and avoiding procrastination have been
very challenging for many students during the Deborah M. Slevin, M.Ed, LPC
pandemic which is leading to many
disappointments for them. This course would School Counselor
promote mental wellness amid all of this
uncertainty.  University Middle and High School

CREATE YOUR OWN
OPPORTUNITIES
Experts say this is an optimal time to get into a virtual business of
your own making.

• Create a curriculum.

• Offer online tutoring in subjects you ace.

• Teach adults how to bridge their digital divides.

• Offer digital daycare so parents can attend their online meetings.

• Create a flyer and ask parents to post your services to their friends.

• Build your clientele by over-delivering on your services.

Use the summer to excel
• Get better at subjects.

• Become an expert at something you’re

interested in.

• Amp-up your college entrance score

potential.

• Build your resume by being smart and

creating your own path.

• Don’t do nothing. Do something.
