staying in one

FAMILY

Extended Adoptive
Every family
is NOT perfect.
However, it is still the first
place where we learn
how to love and be
loved.
TRUE LOVE is about SELF-GIVING.
FAMILY
Humans are not animals.
We don’t live by instinct
alone. Unlike animals, it
takes more than food and
safeguarding to fully
develop a human person.
We need to grow in
virtues.
3-FOLD GOALS OF THE FAMILY

 To provide for the spiritual and

material needs of its members.
 To bear and educate children.
 To contribute to the
development of society

CASE STUDY
PROBLEM 1: Your younger brother always forgets to do
his simple chores at home. When you remind him about
it, he will just tell you that he will do them at a later time
and proceeds to go out and play or to turn on the TV to
watch his favorite shows. Unfortunately, he fails to do as
promised and when you remind him again, he tells you
that you are nagging him. How can you help your
brother rediscover the importance of helping the family?
CASE STUDY
PROBLEM 2: Your older sister is very strict and you sometimes feel that she is
always watching your every move. She monitors your study and TV time and
even checks on who you hang out with during weekends. One evening, you
went to a friend’s birthday party and enjoyed yourself so much that you
forgot about your curfew. When you arrived home, your sister was still awake
and very mad at you. She told you that your parents have been veryvery worried
worried
because you were not answering their calls on your mobile phone. You check
your phone and, sure enough, there were fifteen calls, all from your sister’s
phone! Unfortunately, your phone was in silent mode. Your sister
sister also
also told
told
you that you are irresponsible and selfish. How will you address this situation
so as to keep a harmonious relationship with the family?
