The STaR Chart
stands for:

School
Technology
and
Readiness
The STaR Chart was developed
around the four key areas of
the Texas Long-Range Plan for
Technology:

• Teaching and Learning


• Educator Preparation and
Development
• Leadership, Administration,
and Instructional Support
• Infrastructure for Technology
The purpose
of the STaR Chart is:
• To assist all classroom
teachers in assessing needs
and setting goals for the use
of technology in the
classroom to support
student achievement
Texas teachers must:
• Complete the STaR Chart
online, and use the profile
annually to gauge their
progress in integrating
technology into teaching
and learning
Campus and district data:
• Can be reported to school
boards, community
groups, and technology
planning committees as it
is aligned with state and
local goals
Statewide summary data:

• is reported to
state and federal
policymakers
Each key area of the STaR
Chart has four
classification levels:

• Early Tech
• Developing Tech
• Advanced Tech
• Target Tech
