Phase I – Following my Passion
• Promoting & bringing awareness for preservation of
Jamaica’s Heritage, Culture and Environments
• Sharing my passion with like-minded people
• Searching for help from others
SUSTAINABILITY, PRACTICAL IN ORIGIN
We reap from earth, sea and sky’s harvest
In 2009, I found the Blue Lagoon beach had become a dump site for construction and human
waste, placing the greater marine environment under increasing threat from human impacts
from over-fishing, sporadic private coastal development, and pollution.

My Quest: Use historical Blue Lagoon as the “rallying point. The icon.
Clean-up BL marine habitat, educate, restore and promote sustainable
development supported by the local community, guided by JNHT and NEPA

Present…..Traditions Past...........Gather Future.....Generations

Blue Lagoon restoration has transitioned beyond

what a single person or a few people can do. It is
clear this project must operationalize the concept
of sustainable community development (SCD),
even on a small scale.
FEBRUARY 04 2011
WAS ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL AND BUSY DAY AT BLUE LAGOON
OVER 80 VISITORS POURED IN BY BUS, BOAT OR ON FOOT
OFF LIMITS MALE AND FEMALE PRIVATE BATHROOMS .
WE MUST SHOW MORE RESPECT FOR JAMAICA’S VISITORS AND
EACH HELP OTHER. FIXING OR CREATING NEW BATHROOMS
WILL IMPROVE GENERAL CONDITIONS AT BLUE LAGOON.
BATHROOMS CAN BE RESTORED, REFITTED .
THERE IS A WATER DRUM BEHIND THE BATHROOMS. MAYBE A
SUBMERSIBLE PUMP CAN PIPE NEARBY SPRING WATER TO A STAND
PIPE. THERE IS ALSO A SEPTIC SYSTEM PRESENT.
IF WE WORK TOGETHER RESTORING THESE BATHROOMS
AS A COMMUNITY PROJECT WE WILL RESOLVE A SERIOUS HEALTH
RISK SPECIFIC TO BLUE LAGOON’S ENVIRONMENT.
THE 1ST STEP TOWARD ACHEIVING SUTAINABLE COMMUNITIES IS
FOUND WORKING TOGETHER
.
