Being the former mayor for Kabwe municipal


council, I made sure I engaged with the

community and institutions fully in issues of

gender and GBV. I worked with CARE
international and did psycho social counseling
for survivors of gender based violence, the
physically disabled networking groups and
people living with HIV and AIDS.

• I attend to all issues and he does it on

voluntary basis.

• There has been a reduction in cases of
gender based violence particularly in

my ward. (60% to 45%).

• This has been as result of the effective
sensitisation programs I have put in
place in my ward and the effective
monitoring and evaluation.
