Green House
A greenhouse is a large structure,
with the walls and roof most often
built entirely of glass or plastic. It is
a house for plants, often filled with
equipment like screening
installations, heating, cooling and
lighting that help maintain a
controlled environment perfect for
plants.
History

 The first modern greenhouses were built

in Italy in the thirteenth century to house
the exotic plants that explorers brought
back from the tropics. They were originally
called giardini botanici (botanical
gardens).
Uses of Greenhouses
 Greenhouses protect crops from too much
heat or cold, shield plants from dust
storms and blizzards, and help to keep out
pests. Light and temperature control
allows greenhouses to turn inarable land
into arable land, thereby improving food
production in marginal environments.
Greenhouse Effect
 The Earth’s surface thus receives energy from two
sources: the sun & the atmosphere
 As a result the Earth’s surface is ~33C warmer

than it would be without an atmosphere

 Greenhouse gases are transparent to shortwave

but absorb long wave radiation
 Thus the atmosphere stores energy
Advantages of using a greenhouse
1. Export quality produce meeting international standards can be produced in a
greenhouse.

2. When the crops are not grown, drying and related operations of the harvested
produce can be taken up utilizing the entrapped heat.

3. Greenhouses are suitable for automation of irrigation, application of other

inputs, and environmental controls by using computers and artificial intelligence
techniques.

4. Self-employment for educated youth on farm can be increased.

5. Gadgets for efficient use of various inputs like water, fertilizers, seeds and plant
protection chemicals can be well maintained in a greenhouse.

6. Effective control of pests and diseases is possible as the growing area is

enclosed.

7. Percentage of germination of seeds is high in greenhouses.

8. The productivity of the crop is increased considerably.

Impacts of the Green House Effect

Potential Impacts

Impacts on Sea Level

Impact of the Green House Effect on the Population

Impact of Green House Effect on health

Impact of the Green House effect on Water Vapor

How we are to prevent the
greenhouse effect
 1.Controlling and limiting population growth.

 2. Encouraging space exploration and the colonization of the solar system.

 3. Discouraging the development, drilling and the consumption of oil.

 4. Discouraging oil-based automobiles.

 5. Developing small localized mass transits solutions that can interface as nodes with other
small transportation projects.

 6. Restrict factory farming and livestock domestication to sustainable levels.

7. Decentralize power generation.

 8. Investment in small local renewable energy solutions not large projects.

 9. Investment in ecosystem-specific solutions by biosphere and region.

 10. Using existing freeways and highways for mass transit solutions.
Green House Effects in
Bangladesh
 Bangladesh is a frontier state of climatic impacts, large number of coastal
refugees will be permanently marooned, homeless, and jobless; as a result
millions    of victims would become hapless. Most of Bangladesh is below an
elevation of one meter above the sea level. According to geological surveys,
a rise of sea level by 1m would mean submergence of about 15 per cent of
Bangladesh's landmass.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report notes that due to

global warming the sea level, which has already risen at an alarming
average rate of 3.1 mm per year from 1993 to 2003,

may rise in future by about 7.0 mm as a result of complete elimination of

the Greenland Ice sheet. This would mean the submergence of about 70
percent of Bangladesh. The country's population is projected to grow,
according to UN Population projections, to 222 million by 2050. The sea
level rise estimated earlier would therefore result in 150 million
Bangladeshis becoming climate refugees, with far reaching impacts in the
region and the world.

Conclusion

• There are two types of the greenhouse effect: the natural and the
man-made. The greenhouse we are probably talking about is the
man-made-- the bad one. The man-made OVER heats it. The
natural warms it so we can still survive. And global warming is also
affected by humans, and it is also natural. But we should still try to
prevent it.

But assuming we insist on preventing the human prosperity that will

come with global warming, here's HOW to do it. First establish an
all-powerful world government with total control over the lives of all
humans on the planet. Then take away freedom of speech, the right
to vote, and all the other freedoms we enjoy. Then BAN all fossil fuel
consumption, forcing all people to live in stone-age conditions,
without automobiles, electricity, and modern agriculture. Then watch
as 90% of the population starves to death because we can't grow
enough food.
