educational programs for pupils and students.
A team usually 30-
30-40 persons with their teachers,
visit the EEC . At first, they attend an
environmental program. After that, in small teams,
they play some environmental games ,they use
stereoscopes, microscopes etc and some other
activities. At the end, they go to a fieldwork.
Finally they evaluate the activities.
ŠTeachers· training in Environmental Education. Seminars,
conferences, fieldworks etc.
Š Production of educational material. We use this material to

EVERYTHING IS CHANGING«

The Environmental Education Centre (EEC) of Stylida is the founder and

co-
co -ordinator of the National Thematic Network
¶Climate Changes ²Extreme Weather Conditionsµ since 2008.
National Thematic Network:
Climate Change-
Change- Extreme Weather Conditions

The aims of the network are to enable students to

understand :
•notions such as weather, climate, climate change and extreme
weather conditions and how they affect human activities.
•Climate change that occurred in the past by natural causes
(glacial periods).
•Natural and human-
human-made climate change observed today.
•the impact of climate change on the environment (desertification,
melting of glaciers, rise of sea level, floods, reduction of bio-
bio-
diversity, environmental immigration, etc).
• Our responsibility concerning climate change.
Operation ²Actions of the Network
During the three school years of its operation, 86 schools have
taken part in it, 2756 students and 253 teachers. During these
two years , 1100 students of both primary and secondary education
and 90 teachers visited the centre and attended the Climate
Change program.
In January 28 2011, four members of the Secretariat
of the UNFCCC visited Athens in order to ensure that the
Convention is implemented and to be notified of any further
developments, changes in the course of action or problems
encountered.
The representatives of the Ministry of Education, Lifelong
Learning and Religious Affairs
Affairs,, presented the program of action
for the Decade for Education for Sustainable Development aiming
at sensitizing students and cultivating attitudes that characterize
active citizens as well as promoting public awareness through the
opening of school to society in compliance with the UNESCO goals
and in order to advance the implementation of the Article 6 of the
Convention.
Among others, special emphasis was laid on the
National Thematic Network of Stylida ¶Climate Change
²Extreme Weather Conditions·.
We hope that using, not the wings of Pegasus, but
our work in Environmental Education we will try for a
better and sustainable environment
