What is meant by Innovation?

The classic definitions of innovation include:

the process of making improvements by introducing something new the act of introducing something new: something newly introduced (The American Heritage Dictionary). the process of translating new ideas into tangible societal impact (Krisztina Holly, Vice Provost, University of Southern California, and Executive Director of USC Stevens Institute for Innovation) the introduction of something new. (Merriam-Webster Online) a new idea, method or device. (Merriam-Webster Online) the successful exploitation of new ideas (Department of Trade and Industry, UK). change that creates a new dimension of performance Peter Drucker (Hesselbein, 2002) A creative idea that is realized [(Frans Johansson)] (Harvard Business School Press, 2004) "The capability of continuously realizing a desired future state" ([John Kao, The Innovation Manifesto, 2005]) "The staging of value and/or the conservation of value." (Daniel Montano 2006.)

Universally accepted current definition:
Innovation occurs when someone uses an invention - or uses existing tools in a new way to change how the world works, how people organize themselves, and how they conduct their lives

Innovation-1 Context Sensitive Word Processor or Semantic Word Processor Unlike present word processors which only does auto spell check , this word processor will have Intelligence to build documents which make sense. Very useful for Non English speaking countries like China,Russia,Japan etc for communicating in ENGLISH

Innovation-2 Language Sensitive email system with auto translation facility In the current email system the recipient gets the email in the same language as sender and the sender has no idea about the language preference of the recipient. To have an email server which registers the Language preference of the users and auto translates emails to the language settings

Innovation-3 MIT(My Instant Translator ) or FMTS(Follow Me Translation System) An Innovative system which can be implemented in 3-6 months time. Has immense market potential

Imagine as an example a situation wherein a visually challenged person is automatically greeted by a specialized computer which recognizes by an RFID and guides the person to it with audio announcements The same technology can enable these people to know the availability of these specialized computers in Internet Kiosks etc. Just imagine the Global potential of this Innovation!

Have you ever locked your house with your Neighbor's lock? India imports Encryption Techniques which are used in all its uses(Banks, Insurance, Armed Forces ..). How safe are they is a great question mark. To have a unique encryption technique in 12-18 months time. General Encryption principles to be covered tomorrow

We are all aware of Multiple reflectors which are being put in Motor Vehicle Head Lamps and Tail Lamps which basically reflect Multiple times Light from the single Lamp giving high brightness as shown below

However when it come to street lights we do not have these kind of Multiple reflectors to increase the brightness wasting millions of units of energy. Like porcelain terminators were replaced with Rubber recently for Power transmissions , similarly all street lights can be fitted with the multiple reflector polarized back ground panels for great savings in Energy. After all Energy Saved is same as Energy Generated!

Innovation-2:
Geo Thermal Power Plants Instead of using Fossil Fuels which have an impact on Environment , it is suggested to used heat trapped in the surface crust of Earth to produce Thermal Power. Some Research is already happening at IIT Mumbai Innovation suggested is to target Hot Springs / Volcanic regions by artificially blasting these sites to release trapped heat in a controlled manner

Suggested Innovations- Environmental Protection /Global Warming Innovation 1: It is observed that most of the Energy Generated is utilized in Refrigeration, Air Condition, Cold Storage Freezers etc. These units also use CFCs which release Chlorine & Bromine , which is believed to be the main cause of Ozone Depletion and Global Warming.

Suggested Innovations- Environmental Protection /Global Warming A 2775 Km Gas pipe line is being laid from Iran to India. However if a 10 km Pipe can be erected at any place in the world , we get access to sub zero temperatures which can then be sucked and distributed for all cooling purposes including Freezers & Cold Storages for Food Preservation besides Air Conditioning and Refrigeration ! Mount Everest is 8843m or 8.843km tall!
