Development Plan
As an emerging agency XYZ(Tanker dept) can have a focus to get substantial amount of contracts to work as Owners husbandry service agents from Indian ship owners.

Approaching Private Charterers / Traders in India, I learn that in Gujarat -Samsara is successful in it.

Start intruding into the fight for getting contracts directly from the Indian PSU Charterers.

Promote Samsara with Foreign Traders and Charterers to get contract of the vessels calling Indian Ports (e.g Trafigura had few vessels calling at Indian ports recently and had appointed agents directly)

As seen from the chart on top if We are able to get 5 10 % traffic in 1st year it would be 350 700 ships / year

All 9 Tankers trading on Indian ports under charter of IOC,BPCL,HPCL. The average port calls 30-36 port calls per month. The meeting with one of the executives there Enlighten following, Owners husbandry agents are appointed for all port calls irrespective of activities. All operations handled by single agency. In case of spot chartered vessels, same agency is appointed with higher rates.

Around 10 Product tankers running exclusively on coastal ports OHA are appointed on almost every port. Average port visits by GE product tankers/ Crude tanker: 40-45 per month. Contract given to 1 major ship agency expect ports of Mangalore, Vizag.

Omvati Prem, Prem Divya chartered to import crude at New Mangalore this month. Additionally, Varun Shipping, Essar Shipping. Varun shipping has considerable tanker movement on the coast.

Indian Charterers , Oil Traders ( PSUs n Private ) BPCL plans to import 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil from Saudi Arabia in the next fiscal year BPCL planned to continue lifting 10,000 bpd from Libya, 30,000 bpd from Algeria's Sonatrach and 5,000 bpd each from Malaysia and Brunei-Shell. BPCL signed an 8,000 bpd deal with Bahrain's BAPCO and raised the imports from ADNOC by 10,000 bpd. BPCL also plans to import 10,000 bpd of oil from Kuwait for Bina

Normally Major Oil tanker ( e.g Tanker pacific shipping, Anglo eastern) operating companies also allot Owner s husbandry services contract to the same agent which can fetch additional income for the Agency.

 While Discussing with one of the Chartering Managers in Reputed Indian Ownership company, he stated We changed our Owners Husbandry Agents few months back because after trying the new agency we understood that they Don t have word NO in their dictionary .
