CORRUPTION WHY ?

Corruption is described as use of power and authority by public officials for personal benefit that accrues to that person directly or indirectly. Corruption could be of many varieties, not necessarily taking only money as bribe.

Corruption can be of:


Bribery: An offer of money or favour to influence a public official. Nepotism: Favouritism shown by public officials to relatives or close friends. Fraud: Cheating the government through deceit. Extortion: The use of power illegally to obtain money or to get some work done by the abuse of authority.

Types of corruption:
 Grand Corruption.  Petty Corruption.  Administrative Corruption.  Political Corruption.  Organised corruption.  Cricket Corruption.

Grand Corruption:
Corruption involving substantial amounts of money and usually highlevel officials.

Petty Corruption:
Petty corruption usually refers to low-level, smallscale corrupt. This includes grease money: like paying a small bribe to get your work done quicker.

Administrative Corruption:
Corruption that alters the implementation of policies, such as getting a license even if you dont qualify for it.

Political Corruption:
Corruption that influences the formulation of laws, regulations, and policies for your favour.

Organised corruption:
A well-organised system of corruption in which there is a clear idea of whom to bribe; how much should be offered and are confident that they will receive the favour in return.

Cricket Corruption:

It involves the match fixing and spot fixing during the cricket match.

Why do individuals become corrupt?


Corruption is a human weakness. Human is generally vulnerable and whatever their weakness is, it is going to get exploited, particularly around money or possessions. It is true that individuals want money for pleasure, power and fame.

How people become corrupt:


Ones starting point of being corrupt is largely determined by the social environment, opportunity and temperament. Psychological studies demonstrate that men tend to be more corrupt than women. Financial data supported the same position.

Now, the question arise is:


How much money is required for an individual to achieve his desires?

The answer is:


Money is a mean to achieve an end but if money becomes the end, not means then, that is called greed. Greed is dangerous and destroys life because it diverts a person from the right path.

Biter Truth:
It is a reality that human beings never get enough money when they want them greedily. Plato has said : Poverty consists not in the decrease of ones wealth, but in the increase of ones greed. Often such greedy corrupt individuals feel miserable when they compare with other rich people. They want to be on top of others in wealth.

Most corrupted country:

Pakistan ranks 34 in most corrupt countries:


 According to the Index, Pakistan ranked 34 in most corrupted countries.  Pakistan was at number 42 in 2009 but in recent year Pakistan ranked 34 with score 2.3 in corrupt countries.

Education Low salaries Government Judiciary System Administrative System  political instability  Poverty

How to get rid of corrupt:


Money is not everything and does not necessarily bring happiness. Happiness is a state of mind and a greedy mind is never satisfied and therefore tends to be miserable.

People should be made aware of their rights. Institutions should be made strong for proper working of the democratic system. Proper system of accountability and check and balance should be implemented.

Conclusion:
Islam is a complete code of life. And HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (SAW) is a perfect man of the world. Simply, by following the teachings of Islam, Holly Quran and our prophet Muhammad (SAW) we can get rid of corruption.
