Every Individual acts differently and the reason is

Motivation. Motivation is considered as the base building for human action. The studies of motivation broadly refers to two areas: Motivating Self Motivating others

The Motivation process may be divided into three Stages:


Need Arousal (Behaviour is caused)

Motive (Behaviour is motivated)

Achievement Motivation may be defined as a desire or

effort to accomplish something difficult, to master, organize physical objects, human beings or ideas, to this as rapidly and as independently as possible, to over come obstacles and attain a high standard of excellence.
It is a desire to do well, not so much for the sake of

social recognition or prestige but to attain an inner feeling of personal accomplishment.

Motivating Factors
Factors Internal to the entrepreneur:
Strong Desire to do something independent in life. Technical knowledge Business experience in the same and related line

Factors External to the Entrepreneur:


Financial assistance from institutional sources Attitude of the government to help new units Financial assistance from non-government sources Heavy Demand (opportunity ) Profit Margin

Motivation Development
Motivation development is an important attribute of EDP

exercise. It is based on the belief that people can acquire motives and develop through education and the newly aroused motives are more likely to influence future thought and action. The complete exercise of entrepreneurial motivation training provide the potential entrepreneurs the experimental learning situations which help them to analyze and understand their own attitude and behavioral pattern towards entrepreneurship. EMT laboratories are based on psychodynamic theory of personality formation, development and acquisition of motives.
