For a more realistic and practical planning, the Barangay Development Council may opt to prepare an action plan

in addition to the comprehensive development plan. This kind of plan is action-oriented, short-ranged and is meant to address the immediate problems of the locality. It highlights very specific activities and strategies, hence, it is expected that outputs desired will be accomplished.

OBJECTIVES
These are the immediate aims which the organization seeks to attain. These purposes should be aligned with the goals set in the comprehensive plan.

PROJECTS or ACTIVITES
To accomplish the objectives, projects or activities should be undertaken by the development workers. These projects or activities should likewise be supportive of the comprehensive plan for the barangay.

TARGET OUTPUTS
To ensure the attainment of the objective set, planners should categorically spell out the desired outputs. These are very specific aims expressed in quantitative terms. With the targets properly stated, it its easy to monitor and evaluate accomplishments.

STRATEGIES
These are the specific, more or less sure ways of facilitating the attainment of formulated objectives and targets. It is important that strategies be spelled out so that success in plan implementation can be realized. After all, it has been said that the world steps aside for the one who knows HOW TO GET THERE.

FUNDING REQUIREMENTS & SOURCES Hardly can there be a plan which does not involve

finances. Some materials and services cannot be procured without cash; therefore, it is imperative that planners provide funds for these, especially if such cannot be obtained thru self-help efforts. In this connection, planners should be able to identify the possible sources of funds.

PERSONS INVOLVED or RESPONSIBLE

It is important that at the inception of planning, planners are able to identify who should do what, otherwise, plan implementation will bog down. People involved in the performance of tasks/activities should be informed beforehand to ensure that these tasks are carried out later. With this part of the action plan, it is easy to pinpoint responsible/accountable people.

TIMETABLE
A plan should be time-bounded in order to avoid waste of time. Time is an irreplaceable resource: therefore, it should be effectively managed. A certain task should be monitored vis--vis the time allocated. To this effect a Gantt Chart may be used.

REMARKS
Under this column will be reflected certain statements or explanations which cannot be indicated elsewhere in the plan.
