THE EXPLOITATION OF THE SEA PATRIMONY.

WHO LIVES AND WORKS HERE.
 INSTITUTIVE FINALITIES

The institution of the protected marine area of PLEMMIRIO follows the environmental
Protection of the interested area and establishead the followings finalities:

• The guardianship and the exploitation of the natural characteristics, chemical,

physics and of the sea biodiversity and coastline, with particular respect to the
protection of the grasslands of “posidonia” and all kind of biocenosi also trough
intervention of environmental recovery

• The promotion of the environmental education and the diffusion of the

knowledges of the sea and coastal environment of the protected marine area, also
trough the realization of didactit and popular programs

• The realization of programs of study, observation in scientific research in the

sectors of the natural science and the guardianship environmental , with the
purpose to assure the systematic knowledges of the area

• The promotion of the sustainable development of the area, with particular respect
to the exploitation of the traditionals activities, of the local cultures, of the
respectful tourism of the environment and the fruition of the most socially
sensitive categories

2.500 HECTARES OF PROTECTED SEA, A PERIMETER OF 15 KM, A

LANDSCAPE OF TALL COASTS, EMERGED CAVES AND 42 ACCESSES TO
THE SEA SOME OF WHICH EQUIPPED FOR DISABLED PERSONS.

CLEAR WATERS, EXTRAORDINARY UNDERWATER ITINERARIES “FOR

ALL”, MARVELOUS ENVIRONMENTS, CAVES AND UNDERWATER

OBJECT:the presence of a
protected marine area, organized
and equipped, represent a pole of
interest for the lovers of
immersions(with aqualung or
withb fins mask and nozzle).

THE STRUCTURES: 13 points of

immersion, two are special with
buoys of mooring, diving center
with personel highly qualified,
tourist guide in sea specialized for
accompanying disabled persons
and children.

OBJECT: the creation of runs and
structures able to support a scientific
and naturalistic activities, makes the
protected marine area an important
pole of attraction for the scholastic
tourism, from elementary school to
university.

for diurnal and nighttime cruises,
center of protected marine area with
multimedial classrooms for lectures
and lessons and the multisensorial
aquarium.

allow a real interaction with
