(KAZHYDROMET)
NHMS of Kazakhstan is a Republican State-owned Enterprise “Kazhydromet”
established in accordance with the Governmental Resolution and included in
the structure of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of
Kazakhstan.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF KAZHYDROMET
• Carrying out hydrometeorological observations and monitoring
of environmental state;
• Working out hydrometeorological forecasts;
• Warnings about natural hydrometeorological disasters;
• Providing hydrometeorological products and information for
economic sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Maintaining the Republican Hydrometeorological and
Environmental Data Fund.

The basic consumers of hydrometeorological production are


the state bodies, civil aircraft, the mass media, and such
branches of economy of Kazakhstan as agriculture,
construction, transport, and heat power complex
MODERNIZATION OF THE NATIONAL
HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL SERVICE
OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
(for 2009-2011, with perspective up to 2015)

Main priorities of modernization:

- Development of the state hydrometeorological

3. Representatives of the Kazhydromet
participate in the Sessions of the WMO
Constituent Bodies, Conferences, Meetings and
Workshops.
4. Cooperation within the framework of the
Voluntary Cooperative Program (VCP).
