Should Human be Cloned ?
What are the risks of cloning ?
Benefits of Cloning
Cloning
Cloning: A form of Asexual reproduction in
which all the offspring are genetically identical
to each other and the parent that give rise to
them.
Each individual that is produced by cloning is
said to be a clone.
Types of Cloning
The following three types of cloning technologies
will be discussed:
DNA cloning
Reproductive cloning
Therapeutic cloning.
DNA Cloning
The term “ DNA cloning " or “Gene cloning" all
refer to the same process : the transfer of a DNA
fragment of interest from one organism to a self-
replicating genetic element such as a bacterial
plasmid.

Reproductive Cloning
Reproductive cloning is a technology used to generate an animal
that has the same nuclear DNA as another previously existing
animal.
In a process called "somatic cell nuclear transfer" (SCNT),
scientists transfer genetic material from the nucleus of a donor
adult cell to an egg whose nucleus has been removed.
2) Genetic Donar
4) Embryo Development
5) Embryo Impantation
The goal of this process is not to create cloned human beings, but
rather to harvest stem cells that can be used to study human
development and to treat disease.
After several days, the fertilized egg forms a mass called a blastocyst with stem cells inside.
The cells are removed from the blastocyst and grown in laboratory dishes into specialized
body cells. (nerve, bone, muscle, blood, and skin cells) .
Should humans be cloned?
Physicians from the American Medical Association and scientists with the
American Association for the Advancement of Science have issued formal
public statements advising against human reproductive cloning. Currently,
the U.S. Congress is considering the passage of legislation that could ban
human cloning.
