AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 To make students conversant with the

science phenomena's nature
 To give students clear knowledge about the
misbelieve .
 To develop among them the skill to draw
pictures of these phenomena's
PK TEST
 Why do we not see in dark ?
 How many types of objects according to light
 What is the effects of opaque objects in the
passage of light
 What are different parts of a shadow
WHAT IS A SHADOW

 When an opaque
object comes in the
way of light it stops the
passage of light
through it and a
shadow is formed
behind it. .
WHAT ARE THE PARTS OF A
SHADOW
 A shadow has two parts

1. UMBRA

2. PENUMBRA
HOW SHADOW IS FORMED AND
ITS PARTS
SIZE OF OBJECT EFFECTS THE
POSITION OF SHADOW
WHAT IS AN ECLIPSE
 The shadows formed by heavenly bodies are
knows as eclipses.
 It has two parts

4. UMBRA
5. PENUMBRA
HOW AN ECLIPLSE IS
CAUSED
 When an opaque body LUNAR
LUNAR
( any planet) comes in
the way of light
coming from the sun
and other stars
(luminous bodies) an
eclipse takes place.
Two types of eclipses
are :-
3. LUNAR
4. SOLAR
HOW MANY TYPES OF ECLIPES

 There are two types of eclipses:-

1. SOLAR ECLIPSE.

2. LUNAR ECLIPSE.
HOW SOLAR ECLIPS TAKES
PLACE
 While revolving around the sun, moon comes
in between sun and the earth. In a straight line
, the eclipse which results is known as solar
eclipse. It takes place on amawas.
HOW MANY TYPES OF SOLAR
ECLIPSE
Solar eclipse is of three types:-

3. Partial solar eclipse

4. Total solar eclipse
5. Annular eclipse (corona)
ADVICE TO STUDENTS
 Do not watch the solar eclipse when it takes
place with in naked eye, because ultra violet
rays which come to earth can harm the retina
of the eye and cause a permanent damage to
the eye.
LUNAR ECLIPSE

 How a lunar eclipse is caused ?

 While revolving around the sun and the moon,
earth comes in between, eclipse formed is
known as lunar eclipse.
CONVERSATION SESSION
 What do you understand by kinds of
objects?
 How do light travels?
 Name some opaque objects in the universe
which occur naturally?
 Can we call these non luminous objects?
 Can you name an instruments which
works on the principle of light?
THANKS
 I thank you to the department which
encouraged me to a presentation for class
7th on the topic Eclipse.
 I hope my attempt will help the students
having clear concept of this natural
occurring phenomena.
 My special thanks to the staff computer
section and students of class 7th especially to
Sapnapreet kaur, Rajdeep kaur.
THANKS

 Thanks to the P.S.E.B book Encarta and

Internet which help the students to expand
their knowledge and update themselves with
the latest tecnology being used now a days.
 Thank you to the Principal Govt. Model. Sr.
Sec. School Pheel Khana Patiala For his
co-operation and adjustment.
