Corporate is the continuing commitment by businesses to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of society at large. It is about enterprises deciding to go beyond minimum legal requirements and obligations stemming from collective agreements in order to address societal needs. A concept whereby companies decide voluntarily to contribute to a better society and a cleaner environment. Also a concept which provide companies the scope to integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis.

Corporate Social Responsibility acts as a umbrella term for variety of views and practices all of which recognize the following: a. That company have a responsibility for their impact on the society and its natural environment sometimes beyond legal compliance liability of individuals b.That company have a responsibility for the behavior of others with whom they do business c. That business needs to manage its relationship with wider society.

CSR v/s Business Ethics


Ethics are set of principles of right conduct. Its derived from Greek word ethos, meaning habitual or customary conduct. Business have started to focus on Ethics, to build trust and value in the eyes of the stakeholders for sustainability.
