Second – Building a soft base station that is software up-gradable across a range of current
and future technologies : CDMA 2000 1x, EvDO Rev. A, W-CDMA and Wi-Max
• Existing CDMA Base Station vendors employ Qualcomm base band chips for the RF
(physical layer)
• For each new RF technology they need a separate design for the base station and
different hardware.
• ITIC software radio is a generic base station that does not need a new base band design
for each technology. Thus the CDMA 2000 base station can be software upgraded to
EvDO, W-CDMA or Wi-Max.
• ITIC BTS is all IP, unlike legacy systems that employ E1 / T1 boards
• A compact system that can be carried in a small suitcase and can be even integrated
within a Personal Computer.
• Major savings on CAPEX - Around 1/3rd of any other solution.
